Studies show that children who
become involved in music do better in school, earn higher
grades and higher test scores in reading and math. They
develop stronger cognitive and problem solving skills.
Desi’s Music provides classes
for youngsters age seven and up.
Focus is on learning to play a digital keyboard instrument.
With this comes note reading, basic rhythms, and note values.
The students learn to set up and use a digital organ with two
keyboards which is very similar to keyboard synthesizers.
They learn to use automatic accompaniments and EZ play
chords. Children learn to play easily and quickly and enjoy
hearing themselves make music. Because it is easy and fun
youngsters stay with the program year after year all the
while developing their music skills, and a hobby, that
will provide satisfaction and enjoyment throughout their
lives.

Cindy
Soriano, music teacher for Desi’s Music Centers, explains why
music, and learning to play a keyboard instrument, is
important to your child’s future.
As a former high school teacher, counselor and college
admissions counselor I would encourage you to think about
starting your child on an organ. Take a close look at music
groups on TV. Note how many of them are using organ sounds
and have organs in their band. Organ music is a big part of
ethnic and cultural music. More importantly, today’s
instruments have every orchestral, band, and instrument sound
in them. They can be a Latin or Rock band, a Big Band or a
Jazz combo. Classical piano and organ, pipe, theater and
Hammond sounds are so realistic one would never guess it was
all coming from one instrument–today’s organ-- thus allowing
a child or adult to explore the many music genres and to find
the ones they enjoy most.
Students become their own music arrangers thus stimulating
the creative right side of the brain. When engaged in
making music the entire brain is engaged; the left and right
brain, visual, auditory and motor cortexes, and the language
center are all in use. When it comes to college admissions,
the admissions committee is looking for life long commitment
and interests. They are also looking for the student
who does something out of the ordinary. More and more young
people, nation wide, are drawn to the fun new organs of
today. Colleges will take note of this. There are many piano
and violin players. Being an accomplished organ player will
set your student apart from the crowd.
