Desi's Music Center in Mission Valley will be offering an 8
week introductory music course in which children and their parents,
or grandparents, will learn to make music together on a keyboard
instrument.
Classes begin
Tues. June 17th.
This class provides the
opportunity to introduce children to the joy of making music. It
gives the adult an opportunity to explore making music on a
keyboard instrument for the first time, or to revive and polish up
skills learned in childhood. Easy-to-read music, tutorial
materials, games and team activities make learning easy and fun.
Research shows that both
children and adults learn more quickly and easily in a fun-filled
group atmosphere. In this beginning music class students will be
introduced to the language of music by learning how the letters of
the musical alphabet become notes on a staff and in turn become
notes in a song. Rhythms, instrumental sounds, note reading,
melodies and harmonies will be introduced as students learn to play
on a digital (electronic) keyboard instrument. Today's digital
instruments make for quick and easy learning through the
exploration of exciting automatic accompaniments and EZ Play
chording. The keyboard skills and basic music concepts taught in
this class may be applied to any keyboard instrument. Children
must be 6 years of age or be entering first grade in the Fall.

Basics, and Beyond the Basics we also offer music modules built
around specific music themes.

to John’s, twice-a-month class currently featuring a mix of all
time favorites. This class is DYN-O-MITE! Come to Cindy’s
Friday 10:30 class.

Desi’s Music
Center also offers classes in the North County of San Diego at
the San Marcos Sr. Center
located two signals north of I-78 at the SW corner of Twin Oaks
Valley Rd. and Richmar street. These classes are held on
Mondays. Beginners at 9:15 A.M. Players at 10:00A.M. Classes
may be joined at any time.
